About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate, negotiate and manage power purchase agreements to minimize company costs and optimize the power supply portfolio
Demonstrate power purchase contract management knowledge and skills
Assist with negotiation and administration of long-term PPAs and associated documents
Apply knowledge to meet regulatory requirements related to resource planning, regulatory reviews, rate cases and PPA approvals
Negotiate PPAs and contract changes under guidance from PP team members, legal counsel or PP leadership
Administer PPA billing, payments, security deposits, insurance, notifications, outage scheduling, maintenance periods and performance monitoring
Analyze proposals and contracts and prepare summaries addressing financial and business risks
Participate in team meetings and analyze terms, conditions and assumptions
Review complex pricing proposals and contracts for accuracy and consistency
Identify and implement creative solutions to contract issues and disputes
Research contract language and seek guidance on complex terms and conditions
Coordinate company reviews and obtain required approval signatures before contract execution
Act as the primary company point of contact for contractual matters on assigned contracts
Draft, prepare and execute internal and external correspondence on contractual matters

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance or similar
Experience in energy industry including procurement, energy trading, energy dispatch/scheduling, transaction origination, working on regulatory issues, or negotiating and administering contracts preferred
Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills required
Previous experience in system operations, regulatory affairs, contract law or system planning is a plus
