About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop technical expertise in a particular area of specialty
  • Perform engineering work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment
  • Lead small-medium, non-critical projects and/or provide field oversight of critical projects under direction
  • Develop technical documentation including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards
  • Utilize and assist with developing procedures
  • Provide technical support for Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, Regulatory, and related project activities
  • Provide field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, and inspections under direct supervision
  • Coordinate or lead project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning
  • Support bid and evaluation processes through basic analysis and calculations
  • Communicate with internal business areas and outside customers/vendors
  • Coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, and others; provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
  • Perform budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management for engineering projects
  • Pursue continuous self-development of technical skills and competencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum
  • Electrical Engineering degree or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
  • Entry level: 0+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Staff level: 2+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Senior level: 5+ years relevant engineering experience with EIT/FE required, or 7+ years without EIT/FE
  • Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for the applicable engineering level
  • Preferred EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) for entry level
  • EIT/FE strongly preferred for staff level
  • Preferred PE (Professional Engineer) registration may be required depending on business need for senior level
