About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop technical expertise in a particular specialty area
  • Perform engineering work involving plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment
  • Lead small-to-medium non-critical projects and provide field oversight of critical projects under direction
  • Develop technical documentation including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards
  • Utilize and assist with developing procedures
  • Provide technical support for Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, and Regulatory activities
  • Provide field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, and inspections
  • Coordinate or lead project phases including research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning
  • Support bid and evaluation processes through analysis and calculations
  • Communicate with internal business areas and outside customers/vendors
  • Coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, and others; mentor less experienced engineers
  • Perform budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management for engineering projects
  • Continuously develop technical skills and competencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum
  • Entry: 0+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Staff: 2+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Senior: 5+ years relevant engineering experience with EIT/FE, or 7+ years without EIT/FE
  • Principal: 9+ years relevant engineering experience with PE registration, or 15+ years without PE
  • Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies established for the engineering level
  • EIT/FE preferred or strongly preferred at entry and staff levels
  • PE registration may be required depending on business need at senior level
  • PE registration required for principal level on the experience path requiring PE
  • Preferred Electrical Engineering degree
  • Preferred Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
