About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and lead end-to-end AI systems from problem framing through production deployment and iteration
  • Architect complex agent-based workflows, tool ecosystems, and multi-step reasoning systems
  • Make decisions on model selection, fine-tuning, and use of ML, LLM, or hybrid approaches
  • Define evaluation frameworks, metrics, and feedback loops for reliability and continuous improvement
  • Ensure AI systems are scalable, observable, and robust in real-world environments
  • Mentor engineers, review designs, and improve engineering and AI practices across the team
  • Drive effective use of AI tooling within the team
  • Work closely with product and leadership to shape product direction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years building and deploying ML or AI systems, with significant experience in production environments
  • Ability to design end-to-end AI systems and make sound architectural decisions
  • Strong experience with LLM systems, including agents, tool use, and evaluations, and/or traditional ML
  • Ability to balance complexity, performance, and cost when selecting approaches
  • Experience designing and using evaluations to drive system improvements
  • High standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability
  • Experience guiding other engineers and influencing technical direction
  • Strong ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools effectively and thoughtfully
