About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Focus on container orchestration using ECS and EKS
- Own the Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code estate
- Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
- Operate and tune production RDS/Aurora databases, including performance, backups, migrations, partitioning, and scaling
- Support and productionise machine learning workloads
- Ensure ML infrastructure is reliable, observable, and cost-effective
- Write Python for automation, tooling, and infrastructure glue code
- Champion DevSecOps practices, including security, secrets management, least-privilege access, and vulnerability remediation
- Build and improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture decisions and technical standards
- Participate in the on-call rotation and own production incidents
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering role
- Production ownership of business-critical systems ideally
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Deep, hands-on experience with AWS, including ECS and EKS
- Expert-level Terraform skill; must-have
- Solid database operations experience, ideally PostgreSQL in AWS RDS/Aurora
- Experience with database performance tuning, migrations, backups, and scaling large or high-throughput databases
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions
- Experience embedding security practices, secrets management, and compliance controls into infrastructure and pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux systems, networking, and distributed infrastructure
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data, and security stakeholders
- Must be based in or commutable to London
- Available to work from the office several days per week
