Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver well-structured, high-quality features across Xero's Salesforce platform and connected sales tools over a 3 to 6 month horizon
Connect features to customer and business outcomes using data, customer insights, and AI tools
Make thoughtful trade-offs between delivery speed and engineering quality
Work across teams with sales leaders, technical peers, and cross-functional stakeholders
Provide clarity in technical solution designs
Improve engineering practices and overall system scalability
Mentor team members
Contribute to incident response
Ensure reliable, zero-impact production deployments
Design and deliver Salesforce features using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and declarative tools such as Flows
Support connected sales tools and managed package upgrades, including PandaDoc, Gong, and Outreach
Set up production monitoring, SLOs, and error handling
Manage sandbox refreshes and release deployments
Participate in agile ceremonies, share constructive feedback, and support colleagues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience developing software using Apex, LWC, SOQL, and declarative Salesforce tools
Practical approach to using AI responsibly across feature development, debugging, and system log analysis
Deep expertise in a key Salesforce area such as Sales Cloud, CPQ, Data Cloud, or integrations
Background in building and maintaining REST APIs and platform event integrations
Familiarity with source control, Salesforce CLI, deployment tooling, and continuous integration pipelines
Proven track record handling production incidents and root-cause investigations
Experience with quality assurance through TDD and trunk-based development
Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Ability to navigate competing priorities and keep people aligned across functions
