About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive delivery of high-quality software by leading a high-performing inclusive team
- Act as the technical anchor for the team
- Balance predictable roadmap delivery with team growth, technical excellence, and system health
- Guide the team in improving engineering practices and adopting AI-native workflows
- Resolve complex technical challenges and deliver outcomes aligned with business and customer goals
- Foster a high-trust environment with blameless problem-solving
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design partners to shape customer-focused solutions
- Modernise architectures and improve CI/CD maturity
- Embed AI-native engineering workflows across the software development lifecycle
- Refine system design and architecture for high-scale, high-availability distributed systems
- Improve visibility into system health and technical debt
- Lead or oversee incident response
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive professional software engineering experience
- Proven track record of technical maturity and delivering complex systems
- Experience leading, coaching, and performance-managing engineers
- Experience building and improving team capability over time
- Ability to translate business goals into executable engineering plans
- Hands-on experience writing, reviewing, and debugging production code
- Experience building and supporting high-scale, high-availability distributed systems
- Experience leading or overseeing incident response
- Experience leading teams in adopting AI-native engineering workflows
- Ability to work in the country where the role is based, with appropriate working rights or visa arrangements
- Satisfactory completion of relevant background checks
