About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver quality financial information and drive continuous improvement across the Accounting team
- Contribute to Xero's month-end close process
- Support financial reporting requirements as a listed issuer
- Work across balance sheet reconciliations and technical accounting support
- Develop expertise across the full accounting cycle
- Drive process improvements and reduce manual effort using emerging tools responsibly
- Support Xero's external disclosures, employee equity schemes, and strategic financial projects
- Contribute to month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations using integrated finance systems
- Support half-year and annual reporting cycles, audits, and external disclosures
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities across accounting workflows
- Help implement AI tools and emerging technologies to improve financial data quality
- Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A across Xero worldwide
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Chartered Accountant qualification (or on your way to one)
- Demonstrated process improvement mindset and enthusiasm for finding efficiencies
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to analyse financial results, spot trends, and communicate findings clearly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
- Collaboration skills and commitment to building relationships across finance and the wider business
- Curiosity about emerging tools such as AI and willingness to explore practical applications with sound judgment and appropriate validation
