About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build systems that create test environments
- Ensure test data is ready when engineering teams need it
- Build support systems and tooling for test environments
- Improve test data and enable frictionless testing across engineering teams
- Work with Golang services and infrastructure built with Terraform on AWS, including Kubernetes, EC2, and Lambda
- Contribute to initiatives that shorten feedback loops and increase engineering productivity
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams across Xero
- Support built systems through an on-call rotation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Background in software engineering moved into platform or DevOps, or infrastructure work with understanding of software development
- Strong experience in Golang, Java, or .NET; Golang preferred
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes
- Curious, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to pick up unfamiliar systems quickly, including legacy systems
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to work in or be based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Appropriate working rights for Australia
