About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Write and review code for Xero's Salesforce platform
- Participate in design reviews
- Respond to incidents
- Build proofs of concept
- Shape how the platform is secured, released and operated
- Maintain platform reliability, production compliance and deployment standards as the platform scales
- Work on platform security, including access control, Connected Apps governance and vulnerability remediation
- Champion CI/CD and release automation
- Grow observability, manage org limits and prevent customer-facing issues
- Build a safe agent path-to-production, including evaluation baselines, an agent registry and shared standards
- Collaborate with engineering leaders across Security, Data and AI
- Work with colleagues across Australia, New Zealand and offshore partners
- Translate business goals into technical plans with Product
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on Salesforce development depth at enterprise scale
- Platform engineering mindset
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and release engineering across major release cycles
- Experience with GitHub, SFDX and test automation
- Experience securing platforms used by other teams
- Experience turning post-incident reviews into lasting change
- Ability to make code and design decisions across multiple teams
- Ability to write RFCs and design documents
- Ability to help senior engineers grow through code review standards
- Fluent use of AI tooling
- Ability to turn business goals into technical plans with Product
- Comfortable pushing back on unclear scope
- Ability to build trust and align people asynchronously and in writing
- Must have appropriate working rights for Australia
