About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a direct HR Business Partner to senior leaders and lead teams providing HR Business Partnering and Advisory services
- Develop, embed, and deliver Xero’s global People strategy
- Provide strategic HR Business Partnering support to XLT members and lead Business Partners supporting their functions and leadership teams
- Advise the Managing Director of North America on regional issues affecting North America, especially the U.S. and Canada
- Collaborate with GM/VP PX/HR Partnering peers to align strategic business HR partnering objectives and deliver consistent people programs
- Collaborate with PX Center of Excellence teams including OD, Remuneration, and Workplace
- Identify team skills and development opportunities and model capabilities in the PX Capability Framework
- Advise XLT members on talent management, annual team calibration, organisational design, and restructures
- Support complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations issues
- Advise on employment legislation, risks, and regulatory compliance in partnership with legal teams and external lawyers
- Analyse data, trends, and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Partner with Talent teams on recruitment priorities and workforce planning
- Ensure Center of Excellence programs and resources address Business Services portfolio priorities
- Build a positive employee experience that improves business performance
- Test, experiment, and improve ways of working across the PXP function
- Support the Chief People Officer and EGM Enablement and HR/PX Partnering as needed
- Proactively manage role-related risks, compliance, and regulatory obligations
- Maintain stakeholder relationships, provide trusted advice, and lead a highly engaged, psychologically safe team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience in leadership roles covering the broad generalist spectrum of HR within fast-paced, high-performing organisations
- Experience developing people-related strategies and plans to achieve business outcomes
- Success in developing and leading high-performing teams
- Deep understanding of remuneration practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and relevant employment legislation
- Experience working with and coaching senior executive stakeholders on complex people issues
- Degree, Post Graduate or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of employment legislation and practices
- Ability to manage compliance and regulatory obligations
- Candidates must have working rights for the country this role is based in
- Satisfactory completion of relevant background checks may be required
