About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Treatment Aftermarket and Service activities within a defined territory
- Promote Xylem’s integrated aftermarket products and services to improve equipment reliability and reduce ownership costs
- Build relationships and identify aftermarket opportunities across the assigned region
- Maintain CRM sales opportunities, pipeline visibility, and order forecasting
- Execute system health checks and condition audits within the Treatment installed base
- Conduct ride-alongs and health checks with Treatment representatives
- Secure orders for retrofits, parts replacement, preventative maintenance agreements, energy audits, operator training, system optimization, and advanced process controls equipment
- Train sales representatives and service technicians on health checks and ongoing competencies
- Promote products and services, solicit orders, respond to customer inquiries, and follow up on quotes
- Collaborate with sales and service management teams on customer requests and complaints
- Maintain Treatment databases and develop communication plans for customer site needs
- Provide product installation assistance to contractors, customers, and OEMs
- Troubleshoot units and components of treatment systems
- Provide service information and hands-on training at customer locations
- Record, collect, and report service and technical repair problems
- Submit reports on territory operations, product acceptance, and competitive conditions
- Operate safely according to federal, state, corporate, and local guidelines, including required PPE
- Assist with product warranty determination
- Travel 30% to 50% and work in office, shop, warehouse, treatment plant, and contractor-site environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.A. Technical Degree or equivalent work experience within Industrial, Water, or Wastewater industries
- 7+ years of commercial sales, field service, business development, and/or related experience in the Industrial, Water, or Wastewater industries
- B.S. in Engineering or the Sciences is a plus but not required
- Superior customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 30% to 50% of the time
- Strong knowledge of ozone and UV disinfection technologies and their application in municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment
- Knowledge of aeration systems used in activated sludge processes
- Treatment and/or rotating equipment knowledge and experience strongly preferred
- General knowledge of control schematics, PLCs, and monitoring devices
- Ability to conduct technical writing for customer reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM platforms, and/or Microsoft Access
- Thorough understanding of systems troubleshooting and service practices
- Valid driver’s license with good driving history
- Detailed knowledge of treatment processes is a plus
- Must be able to provide or establish around-the-clock customer service as required
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
- Regularly able to stand, reach, bend, squat, push, pull, and move about the facility
- Able to walk or stand at least 6+ hours per day
- Moderate physical demand and exposure to shop and field elements
