About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independently manage complex tenders and prepare technical and commercial proposals
Calculate projects in the fields of water transport, pipeline construction, and plant engineering
Analyze, evaluate, and review tender documents and prepare bills of quantities
Prepare and submit complete tender documentation on time
Develop technical alternatives and cost-effective alternative proposals
Prepare budgets, cost estimates, and well-founded pricing structures
Request, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor quotations in close coordination with Project Management
Prepare for and participate in award and contract negotiations
Advise engineering consultancies, construction companies, and end customers on technical and commercial matters
Work closely with internal specialist departments to ensure optimal project costing
Participate in project handovers and ensure a smooth transition to the implementation phase
Provide project-related field support as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in engineering (e.g., civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or process engineering) or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience in proposal preparation, cost calculation, or tendering for infrastructure or plant engineering projects
In-depth knowledge of water transport systems (e.g., pumps and pipeline systems)
Experience in civil engineering, plant engineering, or pipeline construction
Proficiency in handling tenders, bills of quantities, and technical specifications
Experience working with engineering consultancies, construction companies, and end customers
Strong understanding of technical and commercial interrelationships, along with a pronounced cost awareness
Fluent German and good English skills, with strong negotiation proficiency in German
Structured, analytical, and independent working style
Excellent communication skills and a confident presence when interacting with customers
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and reliably meet deadlines
Solution-oriented mindset and entrepreneurial approach
High level of initiative and strong teamworking skills
