About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and grow a well-established territory within Xylem's Light Industry division covering the Madison, WI area
  • Specify and sell tailored water treatment solutions for high-purity and wastewater applications
  • Emphasize and sell preventative maintenance services
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships through on-site territory visits and multiple communication channels
  • Guide opportunities through all sales pipeline stages using CRM tools for forecasting and SIOP planning
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on sales strategies
  • Attend industry events and conferences
  • Track and report sales activity and performance
  • Provide customer service and support
  • Research potential clients, cold call, network, and conduct market research
  • Set and achieve territory sales targets
  • Train and support sales team members
  • Monitor and analyze sales data
  • Act as liaison between clients and internal teams
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field with at least 5 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts
  • Previous experience as a Business Development Specialist in a related industry
  • Proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software, such as NetSuite and Odoo
  • Advanced knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software is beneficial
  • Planning, Scheduling, Budgeting & Resource allocation
  • Ability to effectively manage improvement projects throughout the project’s life cycle
