About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set the vision and cross-site strategy for the student services function across the market
  • Collect, synthesize, interpret, and report student services data trends and themes
  • Coach site-based Student Services staff and lead through influence
  • Develop and deliver training to ensure compliance with National Standards
  • Assist Site Directors with staff evaluations and support professional development
  • Support local sites and Site Directors with training and onboarding Student Services staff
  • Provide consultative support in meetings with Site leaders
  • Support staff working with students requiring social work support
  • Review student and intern data to identify trends and develop response plans
  • Cultivate and maintain donor and volunteer relationships for Student Services activities
  • Prepare grant reports and collaborate with the Development team
  • Build and manage relationships with community-based organizations and social service agencies
  • Recommend partnership improvements to program and regional leadership teams
  • Participate regularly in learning community programming and facilitation
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings and complete required learning community tasks
  • Develop supportive relationships with students and provide tertiary-level support
  • Serve as a mentor, group facilitator, advocate, and subject matter expert for student services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience
  • Preferably experience working with Opportunity Youth in leadership or program management roles
  • Ability to lead through influence and coach and develop others
  • Proven ability to think strategically and use data to inform decision making
  • Master of Social Work degree from an accredited program is preferred
  • Business acumen and ability to consult on building student support systems and structures
  • Existing network of contacts within, and extensive knowledge of, local social services resources
  • Effective communication skills and ability to connect with people from varied lived experiences
  • Proven leadership behaviors, staff development, results orientation, and mission-driven approach
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth, team-oriented environment
  • Experience and comfort with facilitation and instruction in group environments
  • Commitment to company core values
