About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Run day-to-day social listening across Yelp, competitors, the local business landscape, and wider culture in Brandwatch
Build and maintain Boolean queries, topic tags, and alerts
Identify cultural moments Yelp should tap into and pitch useful, unexpected angles
Shape ideas, build assets, secure approval, and publish content while moments are active
Turn signals into recommendations and deliver recurring listening readouts and quick-turn analyses
Own proactive and reactive community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Threads, X, and Facebook
Build a trusted Reddit presence in local food, city, and home services subreddits
Handle critical and sensitive Reddit threads and develop engagement playbooks
Own static asset production from concept to publication, including reactive posts, carousels, static graphics, copy-led posts, and UGC features
Partner with the video lead to deliver insights and cultural moments in the right format
Source, vet, and clear user-generated and review-based content
Manage the social editorial calendar in Wrike and Sprout Social
Flag risks and collaborate with Comms, PR, Support, Brand, Creative, and Product Marketing
Report on content and community performance and recommend what to repeat, change, scale, or stop
Report to the Associate Director of Social Media

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years in social media for a consumer audience
Hands-on experience across social listening, community management, and content production
Strong understanding of culture and ability to identify worthwhile cultural moments
Portfolio of static and carousel work demonstrating a strong design eye
Include 2–3 examples of reactive or culture-led work with your role and results
Working fluency with a social listening tool such as Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Talkwalker, Meltwater, or similar
Ability to write Boolean queries
Deep fluency in platform norms, especially Reddit
Experience building a brand presence on Reddit is a strong plus
Sharp, adaptable writing skills
Strong judgment under pressure about engagement, escalation, and staying out
Ability to work independently and deliver finished work without close supervision
Exceptional organizational skills
Experience managing a content calendar across multiple channels and stakeholders
Must be based in the United States
