About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical product training and support to customers and business partners
- Deliver application expertise and knowledge to customers and business partners
- Proactively support sales opportunities and visit customers for product demonstrations and consultation in sales meetings
- Train and support customers onsite, via email, phone, and interactive web sessions
- Advise customers on optimizing experiments and identify new and promising applications
- Create application notes and other technical documentation
- Monitor trends in biologics, cell and gene therapy, fermentation, vaccine manufacturing, and continuous bioprocessing
- Serve as the bioprocessing technical authority for customers, partners, and internal teams
- Support product strategy and roadmap development
- Represent Yokogawa at industry conferences, workshops, and scientific forums
- Provide product improvement suggestions based on customer experience and feedback
- Support the sales organization on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, and application studies
- Work in office and home office settings, customer sites, and analytical laboratories
- Travel to customer sites, with expected travel up to 30%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s or PhD degree in Material Science, Life Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Hands-on expertise with mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation, or cell therapy manufacturing and upstream process development and bioreactor operations
- Experience with process automation and control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms, is a plus
- Work experience in Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical or Bioprocessing environment is a plus
- Experience of applied data analytics methods in Multivariate Data Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), or PAT is a plus
- Extensive experience in laboratories, Process Development and cGMP environments
- Customer-oriented mindset, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivation and desire to work with customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse teams and cross-functionally, prioritize and multitask
- Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work with customers
- Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in an analytical laboratory, bioprocessing facilities, office environment, and home office setting
- Ability to travel to customer sites
- Ability to use telecommunication tools
- Eligible to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Yokogawa
