About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support military spouses through the Military OneSource Military Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) Program
- Maintain readiness in a fast-paced contact center environment
- Receive initial calls through live handoffs using call center technology
- Receive incoming live chats
- Assess military spouses’ needs and provide individualized Government-approved resources
- Provide education and career advising
- Recommend online and distance education and training opportunities
- Educate spouses about financial assistance resources
- Assist spouses with understanding Federal, state, and local occupational licensing
- Provide credentialing information for select career fields
- Schedule career coaching appointments
- Troubleshoot website access associated with SECO programs
- Assist with administration of a Department of Defense military spouse scholarship program
- Maintain the government-provided case management system, spouse profiles, and scholarship accounts
- Connect military spouses with academic and employment opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of professional experience providing high-quality, in-depth educational, career, or employment advising or coaching to diverse adult populations
- 3 years of experience in training development and delivery, public speaking, group presentation, and facilitation, preferably in adult education or medical/non-medical settings
- 2 years of experience supervising or overseeing the delivery of social services and/or education programs, systems, and services
- U.S. Citizenship due to U.S. Government systems access
- Home broadband internet service exceeding 3 Mb upload and download speeds
- Strong technology and research skills
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and active listening ability
- Critical thinking skills to connect clients with applicable resources
- Ability to accommodate a full-time training schedule during the first 6–8 weeks of employment
- Must have a home office setup
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Preferred: active certification through NAWDP, NBCC, or NCDA
- Preferred: contact center or educational service operations experience
- Preferred: former Military, Military Spouse, Veteran, or Wounded Warrior experience
- Preferred: experience in a structured environment with set schedules
- Preferred: ability to build rapport remotely/virtually
