About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide individualized career support to military spouses through the Military OneSource SpouseWorks Program
  • Maintain readiness in a fast-paced contact center environment
  • Receive initial calls via live handoff using call center technology
  • Receive incoming live chats
  • Assess military spouses’ needs and provide individualized government-approved resources
  • Provide education and career advising
  • Recommend online and distance education and training opportunities
  • Educate spouses about financial assistance resources
  • Assist spouses with understanding federal, state, and local occupational licensing
  • Provide credentialing information for selected career fields
  • Schedule career coaching appointments
  • Troubleshoot website access for SpouseWorks programs
  • Assist with administration of a Department of Defense military spouse scholarship program
  • Maintain the government-provided case management system, spouse profiles, and scholarship accounts
  • Work according to a schedule determined by the Advisor Services Lead within call center operating hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must reside in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of professional experience providing high-quality, in-depth educational, career, or employment advising or coaching to diverse adult populations
  • 3 years' experience in training development and delivery, public speaking, group presentation, and facilitation, preferably in adult education or medical/non-medical settings
  • 2 years' experience supervising or overseeing the delivery of social services and/or education programs, systems, and services
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to U.S. Government systems access
  • Home internet service exceeding 3Mb upload and download speeds through broadband service
  • Strong technology and research skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and positive, approachable personality
  • Active listening and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to accommodate a full-time training schedule for the first 6–8 weeks of employment
  • Must have a home office setup
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Preferred: active certification through NAWDP, NBCC, or NCDA
  • Preferred: contact center or educational service operations experience
  • Preferred: former military, military spouse, veteran, or wounded warrior
  • Preferred: experience working in a structured environment with set schedules
  • Preferred: ability to build rapport in a remote/virtual setting
