About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain readiness in a fast-paced contact center work environment supporting military spouses
- Receive initial calls from military spouses via live handoff using call center technology
- Receive incoming live chats from military spouses
- Assess military spouses’ needs and provide individualized government-approved resources
- Provide education and career advising
- Recommend online and distance education and training opportunities
- Educate military spouses about financial assistance resources
- Assist spouses with understanding federal, state, and local occupational licensing
- Provide credentialing information for select career fields
- Schedule career coaching appointments
- Troubleshoot website access associated with SpouseWorks programs
- Assist with administration of a Department of Defense military spouse scholarship program
- Maintain the government-provided case management system, spouse profiles, and scholarship accounts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of professional experience providing high-quality, in-depth educational, career, or employment advising or coaching to diverse adult populations
- 3 years' experience in training development and delivery, public speaking, group presentation, and facilitation skills, preferably in adult education or a medical/non-medical setting
- 2 years' experience supervising or overseeing the delivery of social services and/or education programs, systems, and services
- U.S. Citizenship required due to U.S. Government systems access
- Home internet service with speeds exceeding 3Mb in both upload and download directions through broadband internet service
- Strong technology and research skills
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and active listening
- Critical thinking skills to connect clients to applicable resources
- Ability to accommodate a full-time training schedule for the first 6–8 weeks of employment
- Must have a home office setup
- Preference for active certification through NAWDP, NBCC, or NCDA
- Preference for contact center or educational service operations experience
- Preference for former Military, Military Spouse, Veteran, or Wounded Warrior status
- Preference for experience working in a structured environment with set schedules
- Preference for ability to build rapport in a remote/virtual setting
