Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive new opportunity generation and support commercial success for the Academic Life Sciences Customer Segment
  • Develop and execute North American go-to-market strategies
  • Identify and interpret market signals, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities
  • Develop market intelligence, customer insights, competitive analysis, and recommended commercial actions
  • Create differentiated product positioning, value propositions, messaging, and customer-facing content
  • Build relationships with customers, key opinion leaders, industry organizations, channel partners, and group purchasing organizations
  • Develop market-development plans and opportunities across priority applications and product lines
  • Support product launches, targeted campaigns, sales training, and sales enablement
  • Represent ZEISS at customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, advisory discussions, and industry events
  • Monitor qualified opportunity development and evaluate commercial performance
  • Provide regular business updates and manage assigned budgets and expenses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, or related)
  • MBA or Ph.D. is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or sales in industries related to microscopy or Academic Life Sciences
  • Proven experience in content development, digital marketing, or managing web platforms
  • Strong technical knowledge of microscopy techniques and their applications in Academic Life Sciences
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a matrixed global organization
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally and globally up to 25%
