About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist customers and ZEISS sales teams with pre-sales activities including product demonstrations and sales support
- Support post-sales activities, including helping customers understand and apply hardware and software systems
- Provide product demonstrations, formal and custom training classes, telephone and on-site support, programming, and measurement services
- Provide technical consultation to field sales personnel and the HandsOnMetrology dealer network on advanced applications and systems
- Facilitate accurate technical information flow to the field sales force
- Maintain focus on advanced applications and new ZEISS technology
- Support introduction of new products into the North American market
- Provide technical training programs to field sales personnel and the HandsOnMetrology dealer network
- Plan, prepare, and perform customer demonstrations in-house and in the field
- Provide technical after-sales support and customer training
- Respond to customer and department software/applications support questions
- Aid with software and system testing for product development
- File accurate software performance reports
- Provide applications expertise for project-related activities
- Respond to quotation requests by analyzing inspection requirements and quoting part programming costs
- Estimate anticipated Gage R&R results
- Perform on-site implementation of quoted application items
- Support IT-related issues
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- A four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics is required; equivalent work-related experience may be considered
- 2-3 years of professional work experience
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings
- Understanding of 3D mathematics and computer programming techniques in any of the modern scientific computer languages
- Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable presenting technical information to small or large audiences
- Self-starter, comfortable working independently
- Ability to write clear and concise technical reports
- Ability to perform in a Teacher/Trainer related capacity during product demonstrations or customer training classes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently from problem statement to solution
- Ability to learn independently to find solutions to potential customer measurement problems
- Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time
- Must be a team player across the organization
- Ability to lift 50lbs from floor to table height
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Ability to understand and support IT-related issues
- Windows Operating System knowledge
- Ability to understand Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts
- Ability to understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
