About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Bring the ZEISS Consumer Optical Market mission to life in the assigned geography
  • Sustainably build the business, financial performance, brand and organisation in alignment with the global strategic framework
  • Set the geographic vision and define, develop and implement strategies to grow revenue, profitability and market share
  • Define and deliver local go-to-market strategies to drive customer and consumer penetration and loyalty
  • Identify market dynamics, analyse trends and developments, and identify risks and growth opportunities
  • Own the geography’s budget, forecast and financial performance, including revenue, margin, MC and FCF
  • Deliver complete, compliant and timely financial reporting
  • Build and lead the local leadership team, set goals and enable delivery
  • Develop the organisation, mentor and grow leaders, and ensure succession planning
  • Champion ZEISS values and mission
  • Lead day-to-day operations and go-to-market execution across sales, marketing, customer service, finance, IT, supply chain and local HR
  • Analyse customer and competitor performance and adapt strategies and plans
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, ZEISS values and systems
  • Manage data, cybersecurity, import/export, regulatory and health and safety risks, maintaining robust controls and audit compliance
  • Represent the company externally with industry bodies, government, customers, associations and regulators
  • Build and manage key customer, channel, partner and network relationships
  • Engage with regional and global teams and contribute to the global ZEISS ecosystem

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Science, Healthcare or a related discipline
  • MBA or comparable postgraduate qualification is an advantage
  • 5+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in general management, commercial leadership, country management or business unit leadership, ideally with full P&L accountability
  • Proven track record defining and executing growth strategies, translating strategic priorities into measurable business plans and delivering sustainable financial results
  • Strong commercial mindset and customer orientation
  • Experience in customer-facing environments, channel management, key account development and market expansion
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams through senior leaders
  • Track record of developing talent, building succession strength and fostering a high-performance culture
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, performance steering and management of key business KPIs
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, international organisation and collaborate with regional and global stakeholders
  • Strong change leadership skills, including transformation, simplification, digital enablement and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and external representation skills
  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills are an advantage
  • Must be able to travel regularly across Canada and internationally
