About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Generate incremental revenue through inbound and outbound calls by selling Service Agreements
  • Sell product add-ons, including optional software, as future responsibilities may include
  • Contact purchasing points of contact, furnish product cost benefits and ROI information, and follow up through close of sale
  • Negotiate final pricing and terms
  • Prepare sales presentations and review customer needs based on equipment age and financial exposure
  • Collaborate with field sales and service to drive new service business, renewals, warranty extensions, and product feature add-ons
  • Assess customer needs and propose solutions to close sales
  • Forecast business accurately in a defined territory
  • Maintain customer contact records in a CRM database and keep win-loss sales records updated
  • Provide updates to field service and sales personnel regarding opportunities and customer concerns
  • Maintain current knowledge of product offerings, marketing programs, and promotions
  • Provide input for training curricula and tools
  • Meet or exceed department call-volume standards and metrics
  • Guide other personnel and lead teams and projects
  • Promote effective communication with field and in-house staff
  • Recommend sales-strategy changes based on customer feedback
  • Participate in trade shows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Minimum 6-8 years of demonstrated inside or outside sales experience, preferably in the medical capital equipment marketplace
  • Ability to effectively initiate and manage outbound/inbound sales calls
  • Ability to engage in consultative selling dialogue with emphasis on business impact (ROI, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills and professional telephone skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Solid time management and organizational skills with ability to follow through
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative, and ability to work unsupervised
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Salesforce
