About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ambiguous security challenges from possibility to working POCs grounded in technical reality
- Research customer needs, cybersecurity gaps, and technical feasibility
- Own the end-to-end execution loop: scope the problem, build and evaluate the prototype, document the approach, and ship it
- Partner with Product, R&D, and GTM to turn emerging problems into tangible solutions
- Make decisions on architecture, tooling, and tradeoffs
- Lead successful POC transitions to Engineering and Product for productization
- Stay ahead of developments in AI and bring relevant insights to the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial hands-on experience in Engineering or Security Research
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI agents
- Understanding of how LLMs and AI agents work, where they fail, and how to reason about them
- Fluency with AI-assisted coding
- Strong understanding of attack paths and defensive controls
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar problems, form a point of view, and build solutions to prove they work
- Ability to balance technical feasibility with customer pain and product value
- Comfort starting from a blank page, working without a spec, and defining what “done” looks like
- Ability to explain reasoning, present prototypes to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and document work for others
- Experience building or researching cybersecurity products
- Experience with AI agents or AI agent security
- Experience in an early-stage startup or zero-to-one environment
- Previous leadership experience as a team lead or tech lead
- Public technical output such as blog posts, conference talks, open source contributions, or published papers
