About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide quotes and routes for inland container movements
Secure rates for inland container movements
Facilitate inland movement of containers via rail, truck, and barge
Set up invoices in SAP
Transmit rail bills
Provide accurate quotes and rates for intermodal freight, bids, and spot business
Support commercial efforts by finding cost-effective and efficient routing
Recommend alternate routing when preferred
Negotiate rates with truckers for spot business and new routes
Update ZIMAPS quarterly and maintain missing costs
Maintain routing and route preference order in IQ Ship
Create routes when auto routing is missing, expired, or illogical
Update missing route costs
Manage day-to-day changes to specific vendors and routing
Execute and manage rail billings and resolve problems
Optimize inland routing
Respond timely to Commercial Team routing requests
Use the least expensive trucker
Resolve unrouted requisitions within 1 day when the B/L is valid but the route does not exist
Resolve unrouted requisitions within 2 days when a manifest correction is required
Resolve manual TOs so none are over 1 week old
Process rail bill requests within 2 hours of receipt

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Degree required
Bachelor’s degree is a plus
3 years’ experience preferred in various LOG operating positions
Logistics / Operation experience in the Container Shipping industry is a plus
