About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the development and growth of customer relationships within an assigned territory, account portfolio or animal segment
  • Work closely with an experienced Account Manager or Sales Specialist
  • Manage day-to-day commercial activities for assigned customers or developing accounts
  • Serve as a commercial point of contact and coordinate responses with Customer Service, Technical Services and internal partners
  • Own a defined portfolio of smaller or developing accounts and expand responsibility as capabilities evolve
  • Build trusted customer relationships and understand business goals, operating environments and needs
  • Plan and conduct customer meetings, document customer needs and follow up on commitments
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships and support profitable account growth
  • Partner with Species Specialists and Technical Services to connect customer needs with animal nutrition expertise and Zinpro solutions
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Customer Service, Product Development and other functions
  • Coordinate responsibilities, timelines and follow-up actions among internal contributors
  • Prepare monthly sales reports, forecasts and account or market analyses
  • Monitor market, customer and competitor activity and share observations with the sales team
  • Use company resources responsibly, including travel expenses, marketing funds and company-provided tools
  • Represent Zinpro at trade shows, association meetings and industry events
  • Travel domestically up to 50% and potentially work in different U.S. regions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, Agribusiness, Marketing or related field
  • 0-2 years of related sales, internship, customer service, agriculture or animal industry experience
  • Demonstrated interest in agricultural sales
  • Developing knowledge of animal nutrition and the feed or livestock industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate professionally
  • Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn through coaching, feedback and hands-on experience
  • Ability to organize priorities and follow through on commitments
  • Ability to work effectively across teams
  • Ability to travel and maintain any required driving credentials for the assigned location
  • Preferred: Previous internship or work experience related to sales, agriculture, animal production, feed or nutrition
  • Preferred: Experience preparing presentations, analyzing basic data or using customer relationship management tools
  • Preferred: Knowledge of the animal segment or geographic market supported by the role
  • Ability to work within core business hours and participate in after-hours and weekend calls, customer/client events and industry events
