About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take ultimate technical ownership of Zocdoc’s interoperability technical strategy
Build scalable solutions for Zocdoc’s largest and most complex customers
Lead the rearchitecture of the sync framework for real-time, fail-fast integration patterns
Design abstractions that hide EHR-specific complexity and expose consistent capabilities to product teams
Analyze and decompose complex product challenges to drive sound design decisions
Ship production code using C#, AWS technologies, and React to millions of users
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers in an agile team
Uplevel the interoperability engineering team through coaching, code reviews, and reusable patterns
Improve engineering processes, technical capabilities, and strategic platform investments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Successfully architected and shipped high-impact, complex solutions and frameworks
Experience across multiple areas of the technology stack and complex system integrations
Experience building platforms or frameworks that abstract complexity for engineering teams
Ability to design APIs and interfaces
Strong system design and architectural leadership skills
Product mindset focused on customer value
Experience improving developer productivity, efficiency, and velocity
Best practices for coding, testing, deployment, observability, and developer tooling
Experience mentoring engineers and encouraging engineering best practices
Outstanding and persuasive communication skills for technical and cross-functional discussions
Growth mindset and ability to inspire excellence
Experience successfully working with a distributed workforce preferred
10+ years of significant expertise in backend development
Strong understanding of object-oriented fundamentals
Experience within AWS environments and strong emphasis on testing are a plus
