About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell Zoetis diagnostic instruments, tests, associated products, and services within an assigned U.S. sales territory
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to maximize retention
  • Achieve budgeted sales quotas within targeted accounts
  • Update and maintain sales funnel and customer profile data
  • Collaborate with Zoetis colleagues to achieve goals and support the Diagnostics business
  • Develop and maintain understanding of diagnostic products and services
  • Travel to existing and prospective customer offices, targeting 3–4 existing customers and 3–4 new business opportunities per day
  • Drive extensively and make periodic overnight trips, approximately 4–8 nights per month depending on territory
  • Document customer and prospect interactions in the online system
  • Transport, lift, set up, and demonstrate diagnostic solutions and equipment
  • Explain product uses, benefits, and value proposition; answer customer questions
  • Secure purchase orders for diagnostic products and services
  • Provide ongoing in-person, phone, and email customer support
  • Inform clients about new products, services, and instrumentation updates
  • Coordinate with sales, accounting, and technical staff to address customer needs
  • Work with Diagnostic Technical Specialists to enhance customer service and utilization
  • Generate new business and leads, including placing instruments in competitor accounts, academia, and research settings
  • Gather referrals from existing customers
  • Support billing and collection efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of four years of demonstrated sales experience or relevant technical/clinical experience, preferably in the medical, scientific, or healthcare industry
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree, preferably with a science or business emphasis, or equivalent experience
  • Fluent English
  • Early-adopter behavior and rapid learning ability
  • Ability to absorb and apply technical information and demonstrate technical sales capabilities
  • Expertise in veterinary terminology/science
  • Experience selling capital equipment in physician and/or veterinary clinics
  • Presentation skills, including financial presentations, at all levels
  • Ability to transport, set up, and demonstrate equipment quickly and effectively
  • Understanding of market trends, sales initiatives, and business information
  • Knowledge of competition and value messaging
  • Organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to safely lift and move 60 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance
  • Must possess or obtain authorization to work in the US; sponsorship may be pursued at Zoetis’s discretion
