About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell Zoetis diagnostic instruments, tests, associated products, and services within an assigned U.S. sales territory
- Build and maintain customer relationships to maximize retention
- Achieve budgeted sales quotas within targeted accounts
- Update and maintain sales funnel and customer profile data
- Collaborate with Zoetis colleagues to achieve goals and support the Diagnostics business
- Develop and maintain understanding of diagnostic products and services
- Travel to existing and prospective customer offices, targeting 3–4 existing customers and 3–4 new business opportunities per day
- Provide detailed documentation of customer and prospect interactions in the online system
- Transport, lift, set up, and demonstrate diagnostic solutions and equipment
- Explain product uses and benefits, answer questions, and communicate the value proposition
- Secure purchase orders
- Provide ongoing customer support in person, by phone, and by email
- Coordinate with sales, accounting, and technical staff to address customer needs
- Work cooperatively with Diagnostic Technical Specialists to enhance customer service and utilization
- Generate new business and leads, including placing instruments in competitor accounts, academia, and research settings
- Gather referrals from existing customers
- Support billing and collection efforts
- Travel up to 60%–70%, including approximately 4–8 overnight stays per month
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of four years of demonstrated sales experience or relevant technical/clinical experience, preferably in the medical, scientific, or healthcare industry
- Minimum of an associate's degree, preferably with a science or business emphasis, or equivalent experience
- Fluent English
- Expertise in veterinary terminology/science
- Experience selling capital equipment in physician and/or veterinary clinics
- Skilled at making presentations, including financial presentations, at all levels
- Ability to transport, set up, and demonstrate equipment quickly and effectively
- Organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance
- Ability to safely lift and move 60 lbs.
