About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide medical expertise in diagnostics to product management, brand teams, and other Zoetis groups
  • Develop and implement marketing plans and product responses to competitors
  • Provide strategic input on product and marketing teams, including commercial impact and medical valuation
  • Co-lead strategies for innovative product launches and on-market product enhancements
  • Evaluate new diagnostic business development opportunities with cross-functional teams
  • Identify solutions to unmet business and brand needs and lead necessary change
  • Create technical content for assigned products and services
  • Support assay transition and development between reference labs and point-of-care settings
  • Provide strategic marketing medical support for on-market and new product launches
  • Develop content for internal and external learning, development, and conferences
  • Lead customer activities, advisory boards, KOL development, and customer education meetings
  • Present technical seminars to Zoetis colleagues
  • Advise Learning and Development on training strategy and technical content
  • Participate in cross-functional product teams for portfolio brands
  • Identify, develop, and engage key opinion leaders
  • Organize and execute meetings with speakers and KOLs
  • Establish instrument requirements and laboratory quality benchmarks for evaluation and validation studies
  • Identify technical, medical, and business gaps for assigned products
  • Develop relationships with key animal health organizations
  • Identify trends and develop data-generation and study plans
  • Work with R&D and KOLs on study proposals and execution
  • Lead and facilitate multidisciplinary groups and advise management on technical issues
  • Lead project teams as the medical lead

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years of veterinary industry experience or clinical pathology
  • Diagnostic or research and publication experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with various stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively work within cross-functional teams
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to work and navigate in an environment of regulatory and legal processes
  • Excellent judgment in conflict management and influence
  • Research experience
  • Strategic mindset
  • Ability to interact with and influence Senior Management, peers, and representatives from other functional groups
  • Proficient in project management and creation of technical content
  • Ability to act decisively and meet project deadlines
