About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engineering support to customers through troubleshooting and addressing design challenges
  • Lead design and implementation of product life cycle and roadmap activities
  • Select and validate sensors, actuators and electronic components for system integration
  • Identify and drive product improvement initiatives, including new algorithms, obsolescence identification and cost reduction
  • Develop, maintain and optimize technical and project processes using JIRA, Confluence, Word and other tools
  • Support on-site control system and locomotive commissioning at globally located rail yards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain product quality and value

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience supporting products as an Electrical Engineer
  • 2+ years of field service experience
  • A related degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control or Electronic
  • Proficient in PLCs, including Siemens and Rockwell
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Experience in all phases of the development life cycle
  • Profound understanding of control algorithms and design practices
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including Profinet and RS-232
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Passion for learning and keeping up to date with new technologies
  • Ability to travel 20%-25% and work in industrial environments
