About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support major U.S. customers as ZTR’s on-site technical representative
- Configure and support ZTR control systems using advanced PLC knowledge
- Perform on-site commissioning and investigative troubleshooting of ZTR equipment
- Provide technical training to customers on-site
- Collaborate with and support the sales team as required
- Participate in project coordination and project management activities as needed
- Travel domestically and internationally approximately 15%–30%
- Provide after-hours on-call support for local emergency troubleshooting
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders
- Report directly to the Technical Service Manager in London, Ontario, Canada
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3-year diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology, or Professional Engineer, or valid electrician license
- Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and locomotive electrical systems
- Advanced PLC programming and configuration skills
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Ethernet networking, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi
- Proficiency with standard computer applications, such as Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Hands-on technical experience required
- Locomotive and/or freight railway experience preferred
- Ability to travel up to 30% to customer sites domestically and internationally
- Ability to live in close proximity to Little Rock, Arkansas, or East St. Louis, Illinois
- Ability to work after-hours on-call support for local emergency troubleshooting
