Key responsibilities & impact

  • Guide scalable and maintainable architecture, cross-platform performance, memory management, and long-term technical health
  • Own the end-to-end software development life cycle for live-service game features
  • Champion automated testing, feature flagging, phased rollouts, and real-time telemetry
  • Lead agile team processes, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Manage incoming requests and own the team roadmap
  • Unblock the team, mitigate risks, and maintain stakeholder visibility
  • Drive alignment across engineering, game design, product management, program management/producers, UX, QA, and hardware teams
  • Establish technical strategy and project milestones

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years in a software engineering management role, with experience directly managing, coaching, and growing engineers in the games industry
  • 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in game development
  • Deep fluency in C++ and commercial or custom game engines
  • Strong understanding of game performance, profiling, memory management, and multi-platform game architecture
  • Experience operating and maintaining features within a live-service game
  • Experience with production quality, operational monitoring, phased deployments, feature flag management, and support
  • Ability to independently define technical strategy and team roadmaps
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and cross-team dependencies
  • Ability to lead game engineering teams using modern agile practices
  • Experience running sprints, mitigating delivery risks, and establishing reliable release schedules
  • Bonus: Experience integrating game clients with backend services, persistence layers, and iOS, iPadOS, and Android ecosystems
  • Bonus: Experience in console game development
  • Bonus: Experience with AI-assisted development tools and auditing agentically generated code
  • Bonus: Experience with external hardware controllers or physical inputs
  • Bonus: Experience with live-game experimentation, A/B testing, and analytics tools or data pipelines such as Amplitude and Databricks
  • Interest in products supporting cyclists, runners, and fitness enthusiasts
