About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as lead engineer on hyperscale data center projects
- Design plumbing systems for large-scale data centers
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and designs
- Approve and sign off on work
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications and design criteria
- Provide technical expertise for studies and design efforts
- Present complex technical solutions to clients
- Perform quality-control reviews of work developed by others
- Participate in developing technical proposals
- Estimate engineering budgets and schedules for large projects
- Work with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects
- Attend occasional site visits, client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 6+ years of experience in building systems engineering, with a primary focus on plumbing system design on large buildings
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit
- Working knowledge of applicable local and national building codes
- Proficient in engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
- Well-rounded background in plumbing project design and delivery
- Willingness to travel as required
- Knowledge of sustainable plumbing design and basic LEED building practices
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
- Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) preferred
- Strong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills
- Must be able to work in the United States; sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future
