About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical expertise to internal team members and external clients in data center mechanical engineering
- Provide guidance, training, and principal-level advice on system selection, market trends, specialty consulting, and client context
- Assist with client contact, connections, opportunity finding, and growth of mission critical work
- Advise clients on mechanical engineering in the data center space
- Guide decisions on system types and rack cooling strategies
- Coordinate with internal and external engineering disciplines, vendors, and contractors
- Serve as mechanical-discipline point of contact in high-level client decision discussions
- Participate in project phases from pursuits and proposals through design and construction
- Create thought leadership opportunities to expand Arcadis's data center market presence
- Assist with proposals, engineering approaches, and winning strategies
- Travel to pursuit discussions, project meetings, project sites, and client meetings as required
- Collaborate with colleagues across worldwide locations
- Mentor staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 2 or more years of relevant experience in data center Mechanical Engineering
- PE Registration
- Familiarity with industry standards and building codes applicable to data centers and the mission critical industry
- Ability to advise on mechanical system types and rack cooling strategies
- Ability to coordinate with engineering disciplines, vendors, and contractors
- 5 years' experience in Data Center / Mission Critical system design including data centers and other resilient/redundant facilities (preferred)
