Key responsibilities & impact- Lead complex efforts to develop and deliver data solutions supporting cybersecurity technology and business goals
- Design and engineer complex data solutions across multiple systems
- Research, prototype, and evaluate technologies and toolsets
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, architectures, and transformation processes
- Assemble and manage complex datasets, ensuring data quality, metadata management, dependency tracking, and workload optimization
- Partner with development teams to define requirements and implement scalable, reliable data solutions
- Identify improvements to technical approaches and challenge existing processes when appropriate
- Support testing, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and resolve root causes
- Document deployment, maintenance, support, and operational procedures
- Ensure adherence to data management standards, release processes, CI/CD practices, internal controls, and performance measures
- Lead experimentation and proof-of-concept initiatives
- Validate analytical solutions and mentor junior engineers on engineering best practices and release management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience with technology leadership guiding junior engineers towards project completion and deliveries
- Experience with cyber security domain, preferably vulnerability data management
- 8+ years of hands-on data engineer/software development experience
- Ability to switch from technology leadership to hands-on coding when required
- Experience with big data processing systems like Hadoop and Cloudera
- Experience with cloud services/technologies like AWS and Azure
- Experience with programming languages like Python
- Strong SQL and UNIX experience
- Experience with data stores like Hive, HBase, and Elastic
- Experience with code versioning systems like Bitbucket
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Good knowledge of data engineering principles and SDLC process
- Ability to detect and articulate challenges and gaps in requirements with business partners
