Key responsibilities & impact- Devise statistical analysis plans
- Perform statistical analyses and data analysis using R, Excel, Stan, and BUGS
- Communicate statistical methodologies and results in written and oral formats
- Explain analyses to drug and device manufacturers, doctors, and reimbursement agencies such as NICE
- Analyse patient-level clinical trial data, observational or real-world data, and published aggregate data
- Apply basic statistical analysis, regression analysis, survival analysis, and Bayesian network meta-analysis
- Work in project teams with colleagues across specialities
- Complete statistics projects to a high standard, on time, and in line with client expectations
- Collaborate closely with clients and participate in client calls and face-to-face meetings
- Attend external stakeholder meetings and occasional overseas congresses
- Work on several projects concurrently across diverse service offerings and therapeutic areas
- Produce analyses that may feed into publications, value materials, health economic models, or health technology assessment submissions
- Participate in technical training, project management training, and client communication training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree-level qualification in a scientific or mathematical discipline, minimum 2.1 or equivalent, with a focus on statistics and data analysis
- Proficiency in the R programming language
- Willingness and ability to rapidly develop programming skills
- Ability to explain complex techniques and results to non-expert audiences
- Willingness to research, test, and recommend new software or techniques
- Strong accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to uphold exceptional customer service and quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Flexibility to respond to shifting deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively within project teams
- Excellent written English, assessed during the selection process
- Master’s or PhD in a scientific or mathematical discipline (desired)
- Knowledge of SAS, Stata, SQL, or Python (desired)
- Strong understanding of medical data, clinical processes, or clinical trials (desired)
- Right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship eligibility is subject to Skilled Worker visa criteria
