About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Write original reasoning prompts in Swahili
- Create puzzles involving linguistic reasoning, cultural reasoning, and wordplay/riddles
- Develop complex puzzles focused on grammar, syntax, linguistic ambiguity, cultural context, local traditions, culturally grounded mathematics, puns, and double meanings
- Submit the native-language prompt, definitive answer, rationale, English translation, and difficulty rating for every puzzle
- Ensure puzzles are original, not searchable online, not copied, and not simple translations of existing puzzles
Requirements
What you’ll need- Native-level fluency in Swahili with exceptional writing skills
- High proficiency in English for clear, accurate translations and rationales
- Background in Linguistics, Creative Writing, Translation, or Logic/Mathematics
- Creative and analytical thinking
- Ability to design problems requiring lateral thinking, cultural context, and multi-step reasoning
- Understanding of how automated and computational systems process language
- Ability to create original puzzles that are resistant to automated solving techniques and web searches
- Puzzles must be solvable by a smart, educated native speaker
- Submit application by 30th October 2026
