About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of French entities, including bookkeeping, month-end close, reconciliations, management reporting, and supporting schedules
- Deliver according to client reporting calendars and templates while meeting statutory and client close deadlines
- Run payment cycles with appropriate controls
- Prepare VAT (CA3) returns and schedules supporting CVAE, DAS2, CFE, the liasse fiscale, and annual accounts
- Own e-invoicing setup and compliance under the French mandate
- Act as day-to-day client contact and represent GoGlobal with clients, auditors, and French authorities in French
- Explain French requirements to non-French finance teams
- Lead onboarding of new French clients, including data migration, opening balances, chart of accounts, and system setup through the first close
- Agree scope, timelines, and deliverables with the account team and own the plan
- Design scalable client engagements as the French portfolio grows
- Serve as GoGlobal’s authority on French accounting, the plan comptable général, FEC, and statutory reporting
- Advise global and regional product teams on French accounting, compliance, and operational requirements
- Track regulatory changes and determine implications for clients and processes
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement local accounting, compliance, and reporting tools
- Document and standardize French processes, controls, and working papers
- Build and maintain the France knowledgebase and share expertise across the business
- Support growth of regional delivery capability for France
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years in French accounting, gained in practice, at an outsourced provider, or in a shared-services environment
- Hands-on experience preparing full sets of accounts under French GAAP and the plan comptable général
- Working knowledge of French VAT and the statutory reporting cycle, including FEC, liasse fiscale, CVAE, DAS2, and CFE
- Fluent French and business-level English
- Experience building processes, controls, or ways of working from scratch
- Proficiency in at least one French accounting platform, such as Sage, Cegid, Pennylane, or similar
- Comfort working inside a client’s own system
- Experience managing an own client portfolio
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Comfort with AI-assisted tools and interest in using them well
- Experience moving a client’s accounting from one provider to another preferred
- Experience selecting or implementing accounting, compliance, or reporting tools preferred
- French e-invoicing / PDP readiness experience preferred
