About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the strategy, roadmap and outcomes for GSK engineering platforms including developer tooling, infrastructure automation, cloud hosting, observability and AI-enabled engineering
Own a 12–18 month Cloud & Hosting portfolio roadmap aligned with engineering, security and business strategy
Define and report adoption, DORA, developer experience, SLO and cost-per-user metrics
Conduct interviews, surveys and usage analysis with delivery teams across the US and UK
Write and prioritise epics and features across two or more platform teams
Lead quarterly PI- or OKR-based planning
Participate in architecture reviews, technical design, proof-of-concepts, implementation validation and troubleshooting
Build or modify representative CI/CD pipelines, Ansible automation, scripts and API integrations
Lead business cases and phased plans for toolchain consolidation and licence optimisation
Review logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, incidents and SLOs to drive product improvements
Partner with Security, Quality and GRC to build GxP, SOX, software supply chain and AI guardrail controls into platforms
Shape the GitHub Copilot and AI agents roadmap, including policies, identity, approvals and safeguards
Align senior leaders, architects and delivery teams across regions
Manage vendor roadmaps and renewals with Red Hat, GitHub, Microsoft, Google and observability/AIOps vendors
Own budget inputs, licence utilisation and technical product assessments
Drive onboarding, documentation, champions networks and release communications

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
10+ years in technology
4+ years as a product owner or product manager for internal platforms, developer tools or infrastructure products
Delivery experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services or another regulated industry
Working knowledge of change control, validation and audit processes
Experience building and defending multi-quarter roadmaps using WSJF, RICE or cost of delay
Experience managing backlogs for two or more teams using Jira or Azure DevOps Boards
Experience applying SAFe, Scrum or Kanban
Experience defining and reporting adoption, DORA or developer experience metrics
Experience conducting structured user research with internal customers
Experience developing a funded business case or migration plan covering costs, benefits and risks
Ability to influence senior leaders and multiple delivery teams without formal authority
Experience designing, configuring and troubleshooting GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, including security and integration controls
Hands-on experience with Ansible and scripting or Infrastructure as Code using Python, PowerShell or Terraform
Working knowledge of Azure and/or Google Cloud architecture, identity, networking and platform integration
Experience investigating logs, metrics and traces to improve SLOs and reliability
Experience leading technical design reviews, proof-of-concepts, API integration assessments and solution validation
Technical ability to integrate AI in platforms and run proofs of concept and assessments
