About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Triage and clinically assess referrals from Primary Care, identifying patients’ needs and determining the most appropriate care pathway
- Conduct video telemedicine consultations to assess less severe and less complex clinical conditions in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine
- Assess the need for in-person specialist follow-up or referral to other healthcare services
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of clinical records, including consultations, diagnoses, and clinical guidance
- Perform clinical procedures applicable to telemedicine, including, where appropriate, electronic prescribing of medications, diagnostic tests, and other clinical documents
- Contribute to improving access to Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine care nationwide
Requirements
What you’ll need- Specialist or resident physician in Specialist Training in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine — mandatory requirement
- Active registration with the Medical Association
- Clinical experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine
- Ability to clinically assess patients and make decisions regarding the need for follow-up or referral
- Comfortable using digital platforms
- Strong empathetic, clear, and personable communication skills
- Autonomy, sense of responsibility, and strong organisational skills
- Previous experience in telemedicine and digital health projects — a strong advantage
- Experience assessing and triaging clinical referrals — a strong advantage
- Knowledge of referral pathways between Primary Care and hospital services — a strong advantage
- Immediate availability — a strong advantage
