About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support a value chain of AI delivery from pilots through production
Serve several AI domains and manage dependencies and risks across the wider AI value chain
Work with multiple delivery teams and stakeholders throughout all stages of the development lifecycle
Understand and communicate business needs
Manage work backlogs and guide Data Scientists and AI Engineers in writing and refining features and stories
Plan and prioritize work and manage risks to delivery plans
Ensure development work adheres to internal software development lifecycle controls
Work with business and Subject Matter Experts to write, refine, accept and prioritize stories, features and epics
Own and maintain prioritized backlogs for Agile teams or programs
Review and accept IT and/or business development output against acceptance criteria
Lead development across multiple teams at the program and Epic level
Represent the business with delivery teams throughout the product delivery cycle
Collaborate with UX partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute, solution and release work
Facilitate and document business processes with sponsors, stakeholders and IT
Participate in portfolio, program and project planning for schedule, scope and resources
Prepare the business for change and provide benefits, adoption and risk tactics and metrics
Enhance and advance the business development/execution function
Coach and mentor less experienced Product Owners
Identify, engage, influence and lead business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts
Ensure business activity risks are identified, measured, monitored and controlled according to risk and compliance policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
8 years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis or directly related to supported business operations/product line
Expert knowledge of the AI development lifecycle, including data science run pilots and engineering run productionalization and hardening
Proven track record developing and managing products through the entire product life cycle
Expert experience analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases
Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
Expert understanding and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies and Change Management practices
Ability to gather business requirements, process flows and use cases and develop business capabilities
Experience writing user stories and following the development process through user story acceptance
Advanced experience analyzing and translating business requirements
8 or more years of experience delivering successful AI / Machine Learning (ML) products
5 or more years of experience in enterprise technology, Data Science, or AI/ML product/program management at a major financial institution
5 or more years of experience managing delivery team backlog and workflow in JIRA and Clarity
5 or more years of experience managing execution and delivery of code development from story writing to production
5 or more years of experience managing development team and/or program-level risks and dependencies
Technical fluency in AI concepts, data requirements, technical trade-offs and AI lifecycle phases
Ability to decompose features into iterative stories and prioritize backlog work
Experience managing release processes, testing, product requirements, demos and post-release validation
Expert verbal and written communication skills for executive leaders, directors, business users, IT partners and development teams
Experience working with cross-functional teams including data scientists and engineers across geographically distributed work environments
Ability to take initiative and act on ambiguous development challenges and stakeholder needs
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
