About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support a value chain of AI delivery from pilots through production
Serve several AI domains and manage dependencies and risks across the wider AI value chain
Work with multiple delivery teams and stakeholders through all stages of the development lifecycle
Understand and communicate business needs to manage work backlogs
Guide Data Scientists and AI Engineers in writing and refining features and stories
Plan and prioritize work and manage risks to delivery plans
Ensure development work adheres to internal software development lifecycle controls
Work with business and subject matter experts to understand strategy and vision and write, refine, accept and prioritize stories and features
Own and maintain prioritized backlogs for one or more Agile teams, including complete user stories and acceptance criteria
Review and accept IT and/or business development output
Represent the business and customer perspective throughout the product delivery cycle
Collaborate with user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop and release against road maps
Partner with sponsors, stakeholders and IT to define and document business processes, needs, measures, risks and controls
Prepare the business for change and provide tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption and risk
Oversee development, testing and controls across internal and external technologies
Enhance and advance the business development/execution function
Coach and mentor other Product Owners
Lead development across multiple teams at project or program level
Identify, measure, monitor and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
6 years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis or directly related to supported business operations/product line
Advanced knowledge of the AI development lifecycle, including data science run pilots and engineering run productionalization and hardening
Advanced experience analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies
Ability to gather business requirements, process flows and use cases, develop and deliver business capabilities, write user stories, and follow the development process through user story acceptance
5 or more years of experience delivering successful AI / Machine Learning (ML) products
3 or more years of experience in enterprise technology, Data Science, or AI/ML product/program management at a major financial institution
3 or more years of experience managing delivery team backlog and workflow in systems of record such as JIRA and Clarity
3 or more years of experience managing execution and delivery of code development from story writing to production
3 or more years of experience managing development team and/or program-level risks and dependencies across large technology organizations
Technical understanding of AI concepts, data requirements, technical trade-offs and challenges
Ability to decompose features into iterative stories, prioritize backlog stories, align backlog to sprint cadence, and release planned story work
Experience managing release processes, testing assessment and documentation, product requirement validation, technology demonstrations, post-release validation and work completion documentation
Experience engaging and influencing cross-functional teams and leaders, including data scientists and engineers, across geographically distributed work environments
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
