Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain, and improve Zocks' data infrastructure
- Design, develop, and maintain production data pipelines for reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Implement data pipelines, integrations, and data processing capabilities
- Contribute to new data lake solutions
- Optimize data processing, storage, and orchestration for growing data volumes and complex use cases
- Participate in architectural discussions, evaluate technical approaches, and propose improvements
- Develop automated data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting
- Apply best practices for pipeline testing, observability, documentation, and reliability
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks
- Improve data consistency, completeness, and availability across systems
- Own data engineering solutions end-to-end from implementation through production operation
- Collaborate with the Head of Data, Data Analysts, Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Software Engineering teams
- Deliver reliable, accessible data for analytics and reporting
- Integrate new data sources and support enterprise product requirements
- Contribute to technical discussions, share knowledge, and improve data engineering practices
- Suggest solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and collaborate on implementation decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or closely related software engineering disciplines, including experience working with production data systems
- Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience designing, developing, and maintaining reliable data pipelines
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and modern data architectures
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Experience working with data warehousing, data storage, and data processing technologies
- Experience with data quality, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Ability to independently design and implement technical solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and solve complex engineering problems
- Experience collaborating with Data, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a sense of ownership
- Excellent English communication skills; fluent Hungarian is also required
- Preferred: hands-on experience with ClickHouse, Dagster, Airbyte, and Apache Superset
- Preferred: experience working with data lakes or lakehouse architectures
- Preferred: experience implementing automated data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting
- Preferred: familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices
- Preferred: experience working in a B2B SaaS or data-intensive product environment
- Preferred: exposure to AI-native products or data infrastructure supporting AI/ML use cases
