Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, port, optimize, integrate, and validate audio signal processing software for embedded platforms
- Own substantial DSP components or workstreams from reference models through production deployment
- Translate MATLAB/Simulink models and research implementations into robust, reusable C/C++ components
- Implement, port, and validate DSP algorithms for embedded audio applications
- Own DSP components through implementation planning, integration, verification, and release
- Develop modular, reusable processing blocks and integrate them into configurable audio chains and embedded frameworks
- Apply fixed-point and floating-point techniques and validate behavior against reference models
- Profile and optimize compute, memory, latency, and real-time performance on DSP and embedded targets
- Build unit tests, reference test vectors, and automated regression tests
- Debug algorithm and system integration issues on reference and product hardware
- Collaborate with firmware, algorithm, systems, hardware, QA, ML, and ANC/ANR engineering teams
- Contribute to design and code reviews, technical documentation, and guidance for less experienced engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant DSP or embedded software development experience
- Strong DSP fundamentals and practical experience implementing signal processing algorithms for embedded or real-time systems
- Strong C/C++ programming skills
- MATLAB/Simulink experience for algorithm analysis, modeling, and validation
- Experience implementing fixed-point and floating-point algorithms and evaluating numerical accuracy and hardware trade-offs
- Hands-on experience with at least one relevant DSP or embedded processor architecture, such as Cadence HiFi, ARM, or Qualcomm Hexagon
- Ability to independently take DSP components through implementation, optimization, integration, and validation
- Strong debugging and profiling skills
- Experience with automated testing, version control, code reviews, and clear engineering documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work onsite in Framingham, MA
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Preferred: Experience with audio DSP, processor-specific optimization, reusable DSP libraries, RTOS or embedded Linux, Embedded Coder or similar tools, Python-based validation, continuous integration, ML algorithms, or ANC/ANR controls
