About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build, operate and further develop product-team infrastructure on Google Cloud
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure with Terraform using centrally managed modules and pipelines
  • Contribute improvements to shared Terraform modules
  • Build and operate application pipelines in GitLab CI/CD, including components and runners across environments
  • Integrate and use logging, secrets, IAM, VPC and DNS platform components
  • Apply secure defaults for IAM, secrets, networking, TLS and policies
  • Support day-to-day operations, incident response, infrastructure maintenance and performance analysis
  • Collaborate with platform teams to use and improve shared Terraform modules and policies
  • Document standards and present designs in engineering reviews
  • Manage Kubernetes resources, including deployments, RBAC, networking, policies and upgrades
  • Manage Helm releases with GitOps delivery via Flux and Flagger

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years in DevOps, Platform or Cloud Engineering, with hands-on production ownership
  • Hands-on experience setting up, reworking or extending a GCP or AWS landing zone
  • Production experience configuring, managing and improving GKE or EKS setups
  • Experience with Kubernetes resources, Helm releases, GitOps with Flux and progressive delivery with Flagger
  • Knowledge of Cloud Run and Cloud Functions or AWS equivalents, including trade-offs
  • Experience integrating Google Cloud Secret Manager or AWS Secrets Manager in a mid-to-large company setup
  • Experience setting up or reworking cloud networks on GCP and/or AWS, including VPC design, routing, firewalls and private connectivity
  • Experience implementing Google Artifact Registry or AWS CodeArtifact in a mid-to-large company setup
  • Experience with cross-environment GitLab runner setups and migrating use cases to GitLab CI/CD components or GitHub Actions
  • Productive use of Terraform with modular repositories, multiple environments and plan/apply in CI/CD
  • Monitoring and alerting with Datadog or GCP Monitoring
  • Fluent English, spoken and written
  • Familiarity with Scrum and agile ways of working
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain designs and trade-offs
  • Nice to have: GCP landing zone tooling, Shared VPC, Private Service Connect, hybrid connectivity, Organization Policies, VPC Service Controls, Cloud KMS/CMEK, Security Command Center, Workload Identity Federation, Cloud Armor, Datadog as code, Managed Prometheus/PromQL, SLO-based alerting, Renovate, Go or Python, GCP Professional certification, enterprise platform team experience, retail/e-commerce experience, German language
