Key responsibilities & impact- Imagine, design, develop and optimize gas turbine engines, focusing on performance, durability and manufacturability
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop integrated solutions meeting customer and regulatory requirements
- Participate in all product development phases from conceptual design through detailed design, analysis, testing, certification and production support
- Perform mechanical design using CAD-based NX modeling
- Conduct engineering analysis and weight optimization
- Prepare tolerance stack-ups
- Apply design-for-manufacturing principles and perform cost estimation
- Present products and designs
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Report to the Sr Mechanical Design Engineer Manager
- Travel up to 10%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 5+ years of experience using CAD tools for mechanical design
- 2+ years of experience working with Gas Turbine Engines and component design of turbomachinery
- Experience with Gas Turbine Engines, Fan, Compressor, Combustor, Mechanical Components or Turbine modules
- Understanding of ASME Y14.100 drawing standards
- Proven application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in designs and product engineering drawings
- Experience performing tolerance stack ups for assembly and interface definition
- Experience using NX and PLM software Teamcenter
- Experience with collaborative review tools such as CoLab
- Model Based Design and PMI experience
- Understanding of Aerospace Design Review process and integrated product development phases (IPDS)
- Experience working on cross-functional teams and collaborating with analysis and manufacturing teams
- U.S. Person status or ability to obtain export authorization
- Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; no visa sponsorship available
