Key responsibilities & impact

Own the roadmap across one or more functional areas
Develop deep understanding of customer problems, market needs and opportunities
Translate customer and market needs into clear product priorities
Work closely with development, sales, pre-sales, marketing and professional services teams
Explore applications of emerging technologies, including AI and agents, to solve customer problems and strengthen products
Balance customer needs, commercial priorities and technical considerations in product decisions
Understand customer needs, personas and product engagement drivers
Become an expert in the problems the product solves and why they matter
Run structured workshops with customers and internal stakeholders
Define and build solutions addressing customer needs
Define solution benefits and success measures

Identify opportunities for AI agents and implement them using Workday’s agent tools
Launch products and features and enable delivery, pre-sales and onboarding teams
Manage roadmap delivery and product backlog
Create actionable user stories for development teams
Prioritise backlog to ensure goals are met
Identify and measure feature success criteria
Define and communicate release acceptance criteria, including MVP criteria
Measure, track and improve non-functional product aspects
Contribute to marketing campaigns and external postings
Support sales efforts with product demos and technical customer discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as a Product Owner in a SaaS environment, managing backlog, working with development teams and building Product Roadmaps
Demonstrable experience and capability to successfully carry out the key elements of the Product Owner role
Excellent communication, persuasion, negotiation, listening and stakeholder engagement skills
Enthusiasm for new technologies and innovation
Proactive approach to bringing new ideas to ways of working and the product roadmap
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and challenge supplied information and sources
Ability to engage with customers to understand requirements and support functional or technical product discussions
Relevant commercial experience and awareness to set product investment priorities and drive commercial product success
Good understanding of technology, digital services and trends
Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Prior experience integrating AI into commercial products to solve real business problems (desirable)
