About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Bring Italian accounting in-house from January, including a December dry run and transition with external accountants
- Own monthly-close tasks, including invoice registration, bank reconciliations, and pre-close checks, targeting close within 10 business days
- Set up and manage the Light accounting platform and improve automation monthly
- Control invoicing to ensure every deal is invoiced and every invoice is checked and recorded
- Keep books audit-ready for the first audit
- Support accounting setup with local accountants across European entities
- Report to the Finance lead
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Experience in accounting, ideally in a Big Four firm or startup/scale-up
- Direct experience contributing to monthly closes and reconciliations on tight deadlines
- Sharp eye for errors and habit of checking numbers proactively
- Process-building and automation mindset
- Curiosity about software and AI for reducing manual work
- Based in or willing to relocate to Milan
- Fluent in English and Italian
